Step Sparring
There are a few basic types of step sparring that students perform as part of their Taekwon-Do training. This section is broken down by each type and grouped by their belt rank requirements.

#1 Attack: L- Stance middle reverse front punch Defense: Walking stance middle obverse outer forearm block (3 times) Counter: Middle reverse punch #2 Attack: L-stance middle reverse front punch Defense: L-stance middle inner forearm block (3 times) Counter: Shift left foot to C, right front snap kick to ribs #3 Attack: Walking stance middle front snap kick Defense: Walking stance low outer forearm block (3 times) Counter: Step to the right, left side snap kick to floating ribs |

#4 Attack: L- Stance middle reverse front punch Defense: L-Stance outward reverse knife hand block (2 times) Counter: Shift back, then shift front with right side snap kick to the floating ribs #5 Attack: L-stance middle reverse front punch Defense: L-stance inward middle outer forearm block (3 times) Counter: Left foot shifts to AD, 180 right back kick to ribs #6 Attack: Walking stance low front snap kick Defense: Walking stance low obverse knife hand block (2 times) Counter: Dodge the 3rd kick, shift left foot to BD, right turning kick to the head |

#7 Attack: Walking stance downward obverse knife hand strike Defense: Walking stance obverse rising forearm block (3 times) Counter: Reverse long fist to throat #8 Attack: L-stance high turning kick Defense: Sitting stance moving the left foot first, twin straight forearm checking block (2 times) Counter: Switch to right foot front snap check kick #9 Attack: L-stance low front snap kick Defense: L-stance (moving right foot) low X- pressing block (2 times) Counter: Shift to C, left front check kick and then right high turn kick |

#1 Attack: Right front snap kick, right middle obverse punch in right walking stance Defense: Right L-stance, X-pressing block, reverse inner forearm block Counter: Left twist kick to inner thigh #2 Attack: Right front snap kick then right turning kick Defense: Left low checking kick, left leg dodge to AD Counter: 180 right side kick to ribs #3 Attack: Left side kick, left turning kick while shifting forward Defense: Dodge to C, right rear foot stance, dodge to BD Counter: Right reverse turning kick to head |

#4 Attack: Left turning kick, right mid reverse punch in left walking stance Defense: Left L-stance, High knife hand guarding block then drop on to left knee and palms Counter: Right turn kick to groin then right sweep kick to left heel #5 Attack: Left front kick then right 180 back kick Defense: Right rear foot stance with left waist block Counter: Left foot to BD while right foot pressing kick to back of knee #6 Attack: Left side kick, right pick shaped kick in a left rear foot stance Defense: Dodge to C, right rear foot stance, dodge to AD, in a left L-stance Counter: Right high punch to head |
